Privacy policy
Which data we process, for what purpose and what rights you have. Last updated: 31 October 2026.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for processing your personal data is Kinderwegweiser, sole proprietorship Dr. med. Florian Winkler, Restelbergstrasse 82, 8044 Zurich, Switzerland. E-mail: info@kinderwegweiser.ch. This policy is based on the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the Data Protection Ordinance (DPO).
2. Purpose of the website
Kinderwegweiser helps parents and paediatricians find suitable specialists for children and adolescents. The website includes a directory of specialists with information on available places and waiting times, a guide by concern with cantonal services, information pages on specialties, a form for specialists to request a listing and a feedback form. We do not make diagnoses.
3. Visiting the website
When pages are accessed, the hosting provider automatically stores technical information in log files, namely IP address, date and time, page accessed and browser type. This data is used only for secure and stable operation and is deleted automatically after a short time. We use no cookies and no analytics or tracking tools. We serve fonts, maps and all other content ourselves. No content is loaded from third parties. We do not create profiles and make no automated individual decisions.
For the «Back to the directory» function, your browser temporarily stores the last directory address with its filters and the scroll position in session storage (sessionStorage). This information stays in your browser, is not sent to us and is deleted when you close the tab. Information on stops and stations comes from open data from transport.opendata.ch. It is retrieved once when the website is built and delivered with it. Your browser makes no requests to this service.
4. Hosting and e-mail
The website and e-mail are to be operated by Infomaniak Network SA in Geneva. The servers are located in Switzerland. Listing requests from specialists and enquiries to specialists are processed technically by Scaleway SAS in Paris, France, as a processor, on servers in France. Scaleway does not store the content permanently but only forwards it by e-mail. We keep confirmed requests in our mailbox at Infomaniak in Switzerland. Infomaniak and Scaleway process the data only on our behalf and according to our instructions. If the provider changes, we will update this policy.
5. Directory, guide, radius search and map
The directory, the guide and the information pages can be used without providing personal data. Search terms in the guide and the directory filters are processed only in your browser and are not transmitted to us. For the radius search, the postcode or place is compared with a list of localities delivered with the website. With the «Use my location» symbol, your browser asks for your consent. Your location is used only in your browser to calculate distances. It is not transmitted to us and not stored. The maps of Switzerland are our own graphics on our server. They cause no requests to third parties. Only if you click the OpenStreetMap link in a listing does this external service open. Its own privacy policy applies.
Implementation status: the forms for listings, edit links, enquiries to specialists and notifications are not yet in operation. Data entered there is neither stored nor sent. The following sections describe the processing once they are in operation.
6. Listings of specialists
Specialists are listed only with their express consent. When a listing is requested, we process the professional and contact details provided: name, practice, professional title, address, e-mail, telephone, website, specialties, areas of focus, age groups, billing, services, languages and availability status, for Premium and Team also description, portrait photo and up to five practice photos, for Team also the details of team members. The purpose is publication in the directory, verification of professional authorisation in public professional registers and performance of the contract. Consent is confirmed by a link sent by e-mail (double opt-in). It can be withdrawn at any time by e-mail to info@kinderwegweiser.ch.
About every 60 days, listed specialists receive an e-mail asking them to confirm their availability status. We store only the selected status and the date of confirmation.
Requests that are never confirmed or that are rejected are deleted after 3 months at the latest. If a specialist asks for their listing to be removed, we delete its data within 30 days. Existing listings are never deleted without such a request.
There is no user account for changing a listing or the waiting time. On request, specialists receive a personal, time-limited edit link at the e-mail address of their listing. For this we process only that address and the time of the request. The link becomes invalid once it expires.
7. Subscriptions and launch offer
For the Premium and Team tiers and for the launch offer, we process the selected tier, the activation date and the term. Before the free launch offer ends, we remind the specialist by e-mail. Without a reply, the listing continues as a free Basis listing.
8. Contact form in listings
In listings with a Premium or Team subscription, parents can send the specialist an enquiry with name, e-mail, age of the child and concern. At your request and with your consent, we forward the enquiry by e-mail directly to the specialist. Information on the concern may be health data, which the law specially protects. Please therefore describe the concern only in keywords, without diagnoses, findings or the child’s name. We use the enquiry for no other purpose and delete it after delivery, at the latest after 30 days. From receipt, the specialist is responsible for further processing. The form is not intended for emergencies.
9. Notification of available places
In a listing, parents can ask to be notified by e-mail as soon as the specialist reports available places. We process only the e-mail address, the chosen listing, the language and the dates of sign-up and confirmation. The sign-up is confirmed by e-mail (double opt-in). Every message contains an unsubscribe link. We use the address for no other purpose and delete it after unsubscribing, at the latest after 12 months.
10. Feedback and contact
If you write to us via the feedback form or by e-mail, we use your details only to handle your message and to improve the website. Providing an e-mail address is optional. Please do not send us health data or names of children. We delete messages once they are dealt with, at the latest after 12 months.
11. Invoices
For paid listings, we process the specialist’s billing details, namely name, address, e-mail, chosen subscription and receipt of payment. We keep invoices and accounting records as long as required by law, usually 10 years.
12. Disclosure and abroad
We do not sell data. We disclose personal data only to our hosting provider in Switzerland, to Scaleway in France for the forms, in the case of enquiries to the chosen specialist, to our bank for payments or where required by law. As an EU member, France ensures adequate data protection. Disclosure to other countries is not planned. Should this become necessary, it will only be to countries with adequate data protection or with suitable safeguards, and we will update this policy beforehand.
13. Data security
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, for example encrypted transmission (HTTPS), restricted access rights and secure passwords.
14. Your rights
You can request information about your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to processing, request the release of your data and withdraw consent at any time. To do so, write to info@kinderwegweiser.ch. We usually reply within 30 days and free of charge. You can also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), www.edoeb.admin.ch.
15. Changes
We may amend this policy. The version published on this page applies.
